Linda Joy Orber has written a gentle and soothing devotional book entitled, In Stillness Jesus Whispers. It is written from the first person POV similar to the bestselling devotional Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. To read a devotional is like carrying on a conversation with God, with God speaking directly to the reader.
The devotions contained in the book address common issues: indecision, fear, inability to forgive, trust, surrender, etc. The requests for the Lord’s inspiration is clearly stated and God’s responses are filled with words of comfort, encouragement and insight. The devotions are solidly biblical, plainly written, and helpful.
This book is a great addition to one’s devotional resources. It can be used as a devotional pilgrimage of a few months. The book can also be used when confronted with a specific challenge. I recommend the book for your consideration. In Stillness Jesus Whispers, has been added to my devotional reading. I find myself returning to its pages regularly.
